In the anticipated finale of this series, Lili St Crow goes out in full and brings out all the guns.
The story picks up with Dru, Graves and Ash as they are on the road after having rescued Graves from the hands of Sergei who has broken Ash and almost did the same to Graves.
As they travel.. trouble is soon after them, and they'll have to fight for their lives as if it depended on it.
After Christophe joins them, they all set off for safety, but yet that doesn't happen when the villian turns back up in the picture.
Graves go through a lot during this book. He might not be as physically strong as Christophe, but his inner strength is amazing and I haven't seen anything like it.
His relationship with Dru is a complicated one, as it always has been from the beginning because after everything he has been through.. he doesn't feel he is good enough for her.
And while this book ends.. not like I expected it to.. I guess it does in a way that makes sense for the characters, Dru especially. This is a journey for her and each step is a milestone is discovering who she really is and growing up.
I know the triangle aspect and the conclusion of it was something a lot of people hated about this book. There was no conclusion, and she didn't pick. I can understand that and when I first heard about it.. It baffled me too, but after reading the book for myself I can now understand that the series was more about Dru and less about the triangle. But it would have been nice to get some kind of resolution.. although I do think in some way we did.
We got a confession from Dru and Graves on their feelings for one another, and their ending scene spoke volumes IMO.
I don't think Christophe was ever an issue as much as she thought he was. What she told Graves is something she never has said to Chris and I think for good reason.
I won't go into my feelings in regards to the triangle, but I think it's clear which team I am LOL
In conclusion, which was a unique and somewhat satisfying ending to the series, even though I think she could have done one more book.. to tie up the romantic aspects.
All in all I give this book 4 out of 5.
